Hello, We’re Back!
Hi all – it’s great to see you again; we know it’s been a long time since you’ve heard from us, but rest assured, SMC PDX is still alive and well!
To that end, we wanted to re-engage with you on a topic that is always near and dear to our fellow social media practitioners/enthusiasts – building strong communities that can grow and sustain a brand and/or business.
We’ve joined forces with one of the new kids in town, the entrepreneurial magazine Built Oregon, to sponsor a panel discussion on the evening of May 12th, entitled, “Building A Community Around Storytelling – An Evening With Built Oregon”.
The event will take place at CENTRL office in the Portland Pearl District, on NW 13th and Everett, from 6-8PM.
You can register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/building-a-community-around-storytelling-an-evening-with-built-oregon-tickets-16588281998
It features a stellar panel of 4 social media mavens, brand builders and digital storytellers:
Rick Turoczy, Built Oregon co-founder, General Manager of the Portland Incubator Experiment, founder of the popular local blog Silicon Florist, co-founder of Oregon Storyboard, and cultivator of a 14,300 follower community on Twitter
Terry “Starbucker” St. Marie, Built Oregon co-founder, past President of SMC PDX, Angel Investor, Business consultant, founder of the leadership blogTerryStarbucker.com (one of the Top 30 leadership blogs in the US),and cultivator of a 23,800 follower community on Twitter.
Mitch Daugherty, Built Oregon co-founder, partner/founder of Morange Design, past chairman of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network.
Nathan Lattanzi, Social Media Specialist at Anvil Media, Inc., social media coordinator at Built Oregon.
Our moderator is:
Krystal South, Program Manager of Oregon Story Board, who brings her design and technical background to digital storytelling businesses, helping them develop strategies and tactics for growing their businesses in the state.
Built Oregon will serve as the case study for the evening’s conversation, tracing its story from an idea, to a successful Kickstarter campaign, to the launch of the magazine, and then to the brand and community building it is doing to grow and sustain itself.
There will be many takeaways for you and your own community building activities, owing to the deep knowledge of the panelists, both from the Built Oregon experience, and their own personal brand building.
So join us on May 12th – Tickets are $24 and include snacks and refreshments, AND a one-year membership to Built Oregon.
It will be great to see you again, and soon, we’ll be back to talk about another SMC PDX sponsored event. Thanks, as always, for your support!
